Southern Provincial Council Fisheries Minister D.V. Upul, who was
arrested over an assaulting incident, has been released on bail by the
Tissamaharama Magistrate, Ada Derana reporter says.
Upul was released on a personal bail of Rs. 50,000 after being produced before Magistrate Udayangani Rajapaksa.
The police said that the Minister had surrendered to the police this morning for allegedly assaulting an individual during an event held at the Tissamaharama President’s collage on March 5.
