Coast Guard with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy arrested a total of 29
Indian fishermen poaching in Sri Lankan waters yesterday (5th March).
One fishing trawler with nine fishermen
was arrested in North of Thalai-Mannar while three fishing dhows with 20
fishermen were arrested in North-West of Kudiremalai Point.
The arrested fishermen along with the
fishing vessels have been handed over to the officials of the Department
of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of Thalai-Mannar and Kalpitiya
Police for legal action.
