Next phase of resettlement to begin on April 1

Government to recommence the resettlement program on 1st April from Sampur.

Eastern Province Governor Austin Fernando has directed the Muttur Divisional Secretary to begin the resettlement of the balance displaced persons in Sampur immediately.

The governor expressed hope that resettlement programme could be completed with the relocation of Navy's Vidura camp on March 31. The Navy has also released the Sampur Madya Maha Vidyalaya premises.

Arrangements had been made to re-open the school for educational purposes.
