Price of bread to change this week; bakery owners announce new price

The All Island Bakery Owners Association said that the price of a loaf of bread will be reduced by Rs.4  for a week, starting today March 14.
Chairman of the Association, N.K. Jayawardena said that the reduction was done in line with the Consumer Week.

He added that a loaf of bread previously sold for Rs.54 will now be sold at Rs.50. N.K. Jayawardena said that all bakery owners have been notified to sell a loaf of bread at the aforementioned price.
Jayawardene also said that a decision regarding the increase in the price of wheat flour will be taken in the near future.
