New faculty
of Computing and Technology and its Industry Interaction Cell of the
University of Kelaniya will be inaugurated tomorrow (28th March) at
ceremony organised at BMICH under the patronage of the President
Mithripala Sirisena.
The new faculty will commence
undergraduate courses for Technical stream students by offering Bachelor
of Information and Communication Technology, and Bachelor of
Engineering technology degrees from the academic year 2015/16 targeting
the students who have passed G.C.E. (A/L) examination in 2015.
As well new degree programs such as
Bachelor of computer science degree for Physical science students will
be offered subsequently. Furthermore, postgraduate courses targeting
working professionals and research oriented academics will also be
offered by this new faculty in the future.
The Minister of Higher Education and
Highways Lakshman Kiriella and the State Minister of Higher Education
Mohan Lal Grero will also be participated the event.
