Southern Provincial Council Fisheries Minister D.V. Upul has been
arrested by the Tissamaharama police over an assaulting incident, the
police said.
The police said that the Minister had surrendered to the police this morning for allegedly assaulting an individual during an event held at the Tissamaharama President’s collage on March 5.
D.V. Upul will be produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate today.
