Adding value to agricultural harvests in Northern Province, Government has decided to build an economic centre for the area.
A discussion on the place to build the
Economic centre took place at Vavuniya District Secretariat Office under
the patronage of Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen.
The project is estimated to cost Rs.60 million. The construction of the Economic Centre will provide an opportunity to farmers in Kabithigollewa, Padaviya, Horowpathana, Medawachchiya, Welioya and all areas of the North to sell their produce.
The new economic centre will be built at Thandikulum area and all ruling and opposition party representatives were present at the discussion.
