Apparel industry has entered the 3D designs for the first time with the Optitex grant received recently.
Optitext a world’s leader in 2D and 3D
apparel design software, has granted its leading solution to Sri Lanka
Institute of Textile & Apparel (SLITA) to train designers in 3D
design aspects. With the software designing tool in hand costs will be
reduced. This edition of global 3d pattern making software valued at
US$30,000.
Minister Rishad Bathiudeen recently
addressing the launch event of Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF)’s
twin Public Private Partnership initiative said “Sri Lankan apparel
export to the USA has been growing by 6% annually. 474 textile, apparel
& leather industries have registered with us during September in
2014 - September 2015. During January-September last year 15 apparel
factories and four Buying and Liaison offices were registered.”
