Maithripala Sirisena has strictly instructed the Police and law
enforcement officers to take stern actions to control the rising
underworld gangs by launching a joint operation.
President emphasized he will not leave for criminals to jeopardize public safety.
According to President, the guidance and
advice provided by the Dhamma schools are vital to take the country
forward in a better and an exemplary way. “The Buddhist philosophy is
the basis to make this country a better one,” he said.
Even though many countries in the world
achieved the financial development, their spiritual happiness is at a
very low level. As a result, there is a tendency to practice Buddhist
philosophy in those countries too. Buddhist philosophy gives an
influential example to promote reconciliation among the nationals", he
added.
President was participating in the annual prize giving ceremony of the Sucharitha Dhamma School, Narahenpita today (6th March).
