The National
Program on “Prevention of Tuberculosis and Heart Diseases” will be held
on 29th March in Colombo. The program aims reduce the number of
tuberculosis deaths by 95 percent by 2035.
The International Tuberculosis Day falls
on 24th March each year. The Ministry of Health has taken steps to
implement several programs parallel to the day island- wide with the aim
of promoting of Tuberculosis prevention and treatments
